About Golf Cart Towns

Golf Cart Towns is an independent map and local rules guide for golf cart-friendly places in the United States.

Our town maps use OpenStreetMap-based path data and we also add official city or town map links, local rules notes, review dates, and source notes too!

OpenStreetMap data is useful for planning, but it is not the same thing as an official city map as it is community-led. Local rules, access, crossings, signs, closures, and permitted routes can change quickly, so do let us know.

Golf Cart Towns is not a legal authority and does not provide legal advice. Always check official local sources, posted signs, and current local rules before driving.

How we make town pages

For each detailed town guide, we try to separate three things:

1. Map data from OpenStreetMap
2. Official or semi-official local sources
3. Notes and cautions for readers

We avoid making local rule, fee, route, or legal claims unless they can be checked against an official or reliable source. When a claim cannot be verified, we leave it out or mark it cautiously.

Corrections

Corrections should be made directy at OpenStreetMap so everybody can benefit, not just the people using this site.
If a town page has outdated rule notes, missing official links, or wording that needs correction, please let us know as soon as you can. We would appreciate it!

New Towns

We are aiming to complete 30 town maps by December 2026! If there are any you want as soon as possible, or any new features adding, please do let us know though the contact us page.
